As for the magnitude of the deal? There&#039;s no way he&#039;ll get max money. Around Aldridge&#039;s level makes sense.</description>

Both Aldridge&#039;s and Roy&#039;s contracts have provisions that they must (for example) play in a certain number of games per season, get to the Western Conference Finals, and/or achieve any of a number of other performance-based goals to lock-in the maximum amount of their contracts.  Do the same with Oden.  Tell him he&#039;ll get 90% of league max if he plays in 60+ games for the first three seasons of his new deal or if he can take the team to the Finals.  You can get pretty creative with these contracts, and Kevin Pritchard is fully aware of this fact.</description>
